(Airdate: September 13, 2024) Co-hosts Commissioner Greg Brotherton and Jim Burke speak with the Healthier Together Task Force member Jim Scarantino about the upcoming joint meeting of PT City Council and the County Commission at City Hall Monday evening September 16 at 6pm. The Task Force will present their findings at the meeting to outline new and exciting options for a county aquatic center – a new pool that will cost far less, and could potentially be more efficiently built and run than previously discussed options.

We learned about services they provide to people who are in crisis. This was both fascinating and poignant.

In 1935 William Fife III, aged 78, designed one of the sailing world’s most admired ocean racing yachts, Latifa. She was one of his all-time favorites. Today, we’re standing next to this legendary 70 foot yawl. launched in 1936, and in the loving care of past and current owners ever since. Now she’s in the boat yard at Pete Stein’s Co-op for maintenance. Unlike many large yachts of her era, she’s been in commission since her launching. Port Director and xo-host Eron Berg gives his monthly report, and then KPTZ’s Chris Bricker and Port Commissioner Pam Petranek meet up with shipwright Robert D’Arcy, the project’s lead, along with Jasper, the yacht’s young Captain for a conversation about this storied vessel.
