Exploring the Olympics with the Sierra Club

Discovery Lab – Inspiration Bears Fruit

Teens Making a Difference

(First airdate: May 14, 2019) Kiwanis Teen Leader Award Recipients Sophia Breithaupt and Tyler Nelson highlight the challenges and rewards of volunteering with full schedules as students and employees while carving out time to volunteer. Sophia shares with Missy Nielsen of Everybody Can how her community service is informed by her participation in Rainbow Girls, while Tyler finds time to teach archery and work at the Jefferson International Airport Museum as an outgrowth of his passion for these interests.

The Power of a Promise

(First airdate: April 30, 2019) Marie Youssefirad of the Fariborz Youssefirad Memorial Health Scholarship, shares with host Missy Nielsen of Everybody Can, the heartbreak that shaped the direction of her efforts to bring diabetes education to youth. After the loss of her husband, Fariborz, Marie began to fundraise through a custom license program to raise funds for scholarships and diabetes education in our schools. Listen in and get inspired!
