New Wing for Jeffco Healthcare Opens

(Airdate: August 11, 2025) KPTZ’s Taylor Clark sat down with Mike Glenn, CEO of Jefferson Healthcare and Jill Bueher Reinstra, Hospital Commission Chair, to learn more about the new wing of the hospital. The ribbon cutting will be Sunday, August 24 at 2pm. We talked about the new services which are coming, and the importance of supporting our aging population here in Jefferson County so we will not have to drive quite so often to Silverdale for healthcare services. We also touched on the impact the cuts to medicaid will have on our rural hospital.

Sherwood and the Art of Stage Combat

(Airdate: August 4 and 9, 2025) KPTZ’s Karen Anderson interviewed the cast of Saltfire Theatre’s latest production – Sherwood, the Adventures of Robin Hood – to learn about the art of stage combat.  You can catch Sherwood – The Adventures of Robin Hood on August 8, 9 and 10, and the following weekend, August 15, 16 and 17 at Finnriver Farm and Cidery in Chimacum, as well as the weekend of August 22, 23 and 24 at Fort Worden’s Littlefield Green.  Families are welcome and “pay what you wish tickets” will be available at the door for all performances. Paddle to the Elwha

(Airdate: July 28, 2025) KPTZ’s Taylor Clark talked with Brian Hageman, Washington State Parks Area Manager about the Paddle to the Elwha landing, which takes place Tuesday, July 29 on the beach here at Fort Worden State Park. City Council Candidates

Host Charlie Bermant talked to the three declared candidates for the Port Townsend City Council position 1: Fred Obee, Mikki Porter, and Dylan Quarles, who seek to succeed retiring council member Ben Thomas. This is significant, as it is the only race that has a primary contest (the top two vote getters in the August 5 Primary will advance to the November 4 General Election).
