We’re bringing you a reprise edition of Community Tides and our delightful conversation with Shelby Smith, member of the Board of Directors for the Community Wellness Project. We’re re-airing this episode in anticipation of further conversations that my co-host Siobhan Canty and I will be having with those involved in the school food service programs that are cultivating the health and well-being of students and families alike throughout Jefferson County. Working with school parents, staff, administrators, and school boards, the Wellness Project builds strategic programs that address specific short-term wellness issues, as well as create long-term structural change. the Port Townsend school district for more than five years, providing after-school tutoring for middle schoolers, mentoring freshman students working on entrepreneurial projects resulting in a “Market Day” as well as the annual Senior symposium. Brewocracy Now ~ 9/05/24

Port Townsend CIty Manager John Mauro and co-host Taylor Clark welcomed Dr. Suzy Ames, President of Peninsula College. We talked about a very interesting thirty-five million dollar ‘Recompete’ grant that has been received, spread across several organizations and governments in Clallam and Jefferson counties. This is a complex and far-reaching grant, so listen in and learn more.
