The Stirring Vocals of Maya de Vitry Come to Rainshadow Recording Studios

Maya de Vitry plays the guitar

KPTZ is excited to join Rainshadow Recording in welcoming Maya de Vitry to the Rainshadow Recording Studios at Fort Worden in Port Townsend on Tuesday, March 18 at 7:30pm. Maya is a Nashville-based songwriter, recording artist, producer, and instrumentalist whose music blurs the lines of country, folk, indie rock, and Americana. After a formative chapter of touring and recording as a member of roots-Americana trio The Stray Birds, Maya launched a solo career with her 2019 album Adaptations, earning praise from Rolling Stone Country, NPR Music, and No Depression. With a magnetic voice and a hard-won sense of purpose, she is touring tirelessly across North America and Europe, promoting her fourth full-length release in just six years, The Only Moment. Her sense of liberation is apparent in her live shows, which have become a space for spontaneity, peace, and freedom, often woven together with personal stories that connect the songs.

Listen in to hear John’s explanation, it’s quite interesting.
