DJ Makes Major KPTZ 2.0 Donation

KPTZ is excited to announce that one of our volunteer DJs has jump started our new Capital Campaign – called KPTZ 2.0 – by donating $100,000 towards our planned move to Fort Worden. Last November, KPTZ received a $500,000 challenge grant from the Sage Foundation. In addition, this grant provides a double match for dollars raised during our capital campaign. It was that generosity that spurred this anonymous gift. And we just have to brag, because we are blown away by all this generosity!

Our donor DJ says, “I had already planned to make a significant donation to the campaign eventually, but the opportunity to turn a $100,000 contribution into a total gift of $300,000 was too spectacular to let get away. I urge anyone who can make a donation to do so while Sage Foundation’s generous double match offer is still on the table.” KPTZ is grateful for this pace-setting gift.

The funds will be used to construct state-of-the-art studios and secure a permanent transmitter site, allowing us to leave our cramped Mountain View portable classroom and become part of the new Makers Square arts campus at Fort Worden.

If you are similarly inspired to triple your contribution while the Sage match is available, we invite you to make your check out to the “KPTZ Capital Campaign” and either mail it to KPTZ, PO Box 2091, Port Townsend 98368, or bring it in to the station so we can also thank you in person.
