John McCutcheon Livestream Concert & KPTZ Fundraiser
Turn Your Radio On to celebrate 50 years of public and community radio and to support KPTZ! For nearly fifty years and over 40 albums, both public and community radio has found a regular and diverse source of music in John McCutcheon’s recordings. Now, John is returning the favor. You’ll have the opportunity to join John for a special evening of his music and conversation with very special guests. Turn Your Radio On is happening on June 27th at 5pm. The livestream concert will be an intimate celebration of the way 50 years of public radio has knit communities of music lovers together, and kept them informed, inspired and connected. KPTZ is proud to be a co-sponsor of this event and we’d love to have you join us. A portion of the proceeds from your ticket directly benefited KPTZ.

Compass for 6/26/21
On May 6, 2020, Port Townsend was named Washington State’s newest creative district by the Washington State Arts Commission. This designation is the culmination of a successful application submitted by the Port Townsend Creative District subcommittee last fall. The Port Townsend Creative District encompasses the Downtown and Uptown Historic Districts and the historic campus of Fort Worden. This week, near the entrance to Fort Worden, we join Creative District Sub-Committee member Dominic Svornich to tell us more. And then sculptor Jonah Trople joins us for the unveiling of one of five Art Marker sculptures that now grace our community’s Historic Districts.
