KPTZ is excited to simulcast local singer Chris Gilbert as part of the Candlelight Concert Series, live at Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Townsend, on Thursday, November 17 at 7pm. Chris Gilbert is known for performing a mix of traditional and contemporary folk songs from across the British Isles. For this show, he will focus on folk songs from England and Ireland. Audience participation on choruses is encouraged and words will be provided.

Missy Nielsen speaks with Jenn Kingfisher, Director of Community Partnerships and Heather Dudley Nolette of Bayside Housing, one of the nonprofit organizations looking towards this funding to support their efforts in providing transitional housing and support. They will experience music in a major city and play alongside other school-age musicians. Larry Stein attended a fundraising concert and spoke with Daniel Ferland, the head of the PT High School music program, and Dr. James Ray, respected regional music educator. We’ll also hear some clips from the concert.
