2023 ShakeOut Drill

International ShakeOut Day is always the third Thursday of October. KPTZ’s Emergency Team is prepared in case of any major emergency. On Thursday, October 19 our Team observed the annual Great ShakeOut Drill, set for 10:19am. Lynn Sorensen and DJ GoodWoman have a lot to say about disasters and preparedness.

Jean Lenke Jazz Folk Quartet Performs Live

KPTZ is pleased to announce Jean Lenke and her Jazz Folk Quartet performing live at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 26 at 7pm for an evening of jazz, folk, and blues. Jean Lenke is known for her versatile style, able to perform with any style of band, from a duo to a full six-piece band. For this concert, Jean will be bringing a selection of songs that highlight her folk roots. She will be accompanied by Steve Kirk on guitar, Jim Charlier on bass, and Ed Donahue on trumpet and flugelhorn. This concert is a part of our Candlelight Concert series and will be simulcast on 91.9FM KPTZ.

Peninsula Trails Coalition

(Airdate: October 17, 2023) The Peninsula Trails Coalitions is one of three organizations working with the Puget Sound to Pacific Collaborative. This collaborative is working together to plan and build a 200-mile multi-use trail from the ferry docks of Bainbridge Island, Kingston, and Port Townsend to the Pacific Coast at La Push. Join Missy Nielsen of Everybody Can as she explores the opportunities to connect with folks on our Peninsula trailways with Peninsula Trails Coalition Vice President and Olympic Discovery Trails board member Merrily Mount, one of the stakeholders working towards this exciting goal.
