#638 Derelict Crab Pots and Robotics Used to Retrieve Them

LWV Candidate Forums
KPTZ joins with the League of Women Voters-Jefferson County in presenting three candidate forums, which will be broadcast live on 91.9 FM. The forums will take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, October 2 through 4 from 6-7pm.
– Monday, October 2 features candidates for Port Townsend School Board.
– Tuesday, October 3 has the candidates for Quilcene School Board Director-at-Large.
– Wednesday, October 4 is the race for Port Commissioner for the Port of Port Townsend.
Questions may be submitted in advance to [email protected] before noon on October 1. Then tune in to 91.9FM from 6-7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1 through 3, to hear the candidate forums live on KPTZ.

Stringband Theory Tribute
Kerry Blech (1947-2023) was an old-time fiddler and preeminent ethno-musicologist. He grew up in Ohio and moved to Seattle for the next 22 years. Over the years, Kerry became recognized as an expert on old-time music. Despite any due acclaim, Kerry was very generous with his time and knowledge. Sheila Blech Long was married to Kerry for several decades and they had 2 children. On Tuesday’s Stringband Theory at 8:30am, Sheila will join Dave Long live to discuss Kerry and play some music in a tribute. Hope you’ll tune in.
