KPTZ invites you to join in the second concert in the Early Music at the Grange Series, “Superstars of the High Baroque,” on Saturday, November 18 at 3pm at the Quimper Grange in Port Townsend. The concert features chamber music from 18th century Europe by the most renowned and skilled composers of the era. The Odd Pearl Consort performs on reproductions of instruments used in the time period, such as the Baroque flute, the Baroque violin, the harpsichord, and viola de gamba. KPTZ is excited to announce Kozmopolis, a local folk music group, performing live at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 16 at 7pm. Kozmopolis brings the joyful sounds of Eastern European Folk Music to the Candlelight Concert Stage. Featuring locals Mark “Kozmo” Schlenz on violin, Jane Freeburg on accordion, and Dan Harrison on bass, prepare yourself for rousing beats, lyrical waltzes, and evocative melodies from Ukraine, Romania, and medieval Spain.

Listen to Nan Evans talk with paleontologist Liz Nesbitt and natural history writer David Williams about fossils of Washington State, especially the Olympic Peninsula and the Puget Sound area. Liz and David will share stories and explore many of the tales of ancient critters, big and small, that are discussed in their new book Spirit Whales and Sloth Tales.
