County Public Health Report ~ Monday

This coming Monday at 9:45am, KPTZ will broadcast a Public Health Update, live from the Board of County Commissioners’ meeting. Dr. Allison Berry, Public Health Officer for Jefferson County, will give a COVID-19 update, Willie Bence, Director of Emergency Management, will also speak. Submit your Public Health questions by emailing [email protected]. Note: The deadline for submitting these questions is on Fridays at noon, to be answered at the following Monday’s BOCC meeting.

County Connections

(Airdate: March 1, 2024) Taylor Clark co-hosted with Jefferson County Commissioner Kate Dean, and they welcomed Jefferson County Parks and Rec Program Coordinator Chris Macklin, and talked about the amazingly wide variety of kids and adult recreational sports programs the county supports, particular the youth rec soccer league, kids and adult basketball, volleyball, even zumba! Chris is something of a local legend with kids who have participated in these family friendly programs over the years. Spring kids soccer signup is open now through March 15th. There are openings for coaches, too. If you are interested in being a youth soccer coach call Chris at 360-385-2221.

Brewocracy Now ~ 2/29/24

Taylor Clark welcomed a special co-host: Shelly Leavens, Director of Communications and Marketing for the city of Port Townsend. We talked with Michael Todd, Parks & Facilities Manager about a grant the city has received to plant trees and remove invasive plants from city parks. We also talked about the skate park, which is being renamed in honor of Seamus Sims. Shelly also invited Taylor to come to the State of the City presentation by Mayor Faber and John Mauro, which will be Monday, March 4, doors open at 9:30 at the Point Hudson Pavilion.
