Early Music at the Grange Concert

KPTZ is pleased to co-present the next installment of Early Music Series at the Quimper Grange in Port Townsend on Saturday, May 25 at 2pm. The “Return to Potsdam” will be presented by Schola Galante, an ensemble playing on instruments appropriate to the time period. Schola Galante will focus on music from the court of Frederick the Great, ruler of Prussia from 1740 to 1786. The music from this time period greatly influenced subsequent generations of composers such as Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.
Bobbi Nickles and Jere Canote Perform Live

Please join KPTZ in welcoming Bobbi Nickles and Jere Canote to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Townsend on Thursday, May 23 at 7pm. Bobbi Nickles is a Port Townsend based fiddler who has performed in old-time, Irish, jazz, and contradance bands. Jere Canote is a multi-instrumentalist who can play the guitar, banjo, ukulele, and harmonica. They met in Port Townsend and discovered in each other kindred musical spirits! They specialize in lively fiddle tunes, antique swing and blues, and country songs old and new. This concert is the next installment in our Candlelight Concert series and will be simulcast on 91.9 FM KPTZ.

KPTZ’s Taylor Clark and co-host John Mauro (Port Townsend City Manager) talked with Bill Wise, Steering Committee Chair of the Housing Solutions Network about Workforce Housing: what it is, why it is important, what we can do to improve housing availability.
