(Airdate: February 27, 2026) Jim Burke and Commissioner co-host Heather Dudley Nollette welcome Bonnie Obremski, Jefferson County Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Program Coordinator. Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) originate before age 18, continue indefinitely, and cause limitations. A few examples of IDD include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, Down Syndrome, various learning disabilities, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum
Disorder. Jefferson County works to ensure residents experiencing intellectual and/or developmental disabilities have the choice, opportunity, and support to achieve full, active, and productive participation in community life.

(Reprise airdate: February 25, 2026) Saving Ourselves and Our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder. Are we dimishing our lives of the senses? Nan Evans talks with special guest Richard Louv, author of many books examining the crucial connections between the natural world and human physical, mental, social and even cultural health. Richard Louv first developed the concept of a nature-deficit disorder in his 2005 book Last Child in the Woods. You will be inspired to get yourself and those you love outside to explore, play, watch and listen.

Sons of Rainier and Uncle Daddy and the Playful Pets – Live at the Quilcene Lantern!

KPTZ is thrilled to join the Quilcene Lantern in welcoming the Sons of Rainier, along with local favorites Uncle Daddy and the Playful Pets, on Thursday, February 26 at 6pm at the Quilcene Lantern. The Sons of Rainier hail from the great PNW, and create easy-going alt-folk for hard times. Their music has found its way into the permanent library of hobos, widows, fry cooks, and fancy pants alike. This show will feature a honkytonk dance and local band Uncle Daddy and the Playful Pets. Brought to you by KPTZ and the Quilcene Lantern, don’t forget your cowboy boots!

Key City Public Theatre

(Airdate: February 20, 2026) Jim Burke and Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour welcome Laura Tucker, Education and Outreach Specialist with JeffCo Sold Waste, and Phil Sonne, a member of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee. The discussion centers on upcoming changes to Solid Waste and Recycling programs here in Jefferson County, coming up April 1.
