As far back as he can remember, Jerry Osborne has proudly stated “music is my life.” And he isn’t kidding. His desire to play music on the radio became a reality in 1961, when he became the DJ at his high school in Los Angeles. Three years later, he got his first full-time (and paying!) radio show on KREO in Indio CA. Over the next 24 years he climbed the ladder to major markets and top-rated stations like Sacramento (KXOA), San Francisco (KYA), and Phoenix (KNIX and KOOL). More recently, Jerry created a one-hour radio program titled “The Class Of…” now heard every Wednesday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm on KPTZ.
Each week this fresh concept spotlights a specific year — from 1940 to 1989 – or even something surprising. For example, every few weeks instead of a year, he’ll have a theme that may span many years, such as “The Class of Duets,” or “The Class of ‘60s Instrumentals”. Jerry loves doing this show and always delivers an hour of some of the 20th century’s best music, along with interesting trivia and lots of personality.
