Pleasures and Treasures / Marcia Perlstein

Pleasures and Treasures airs Mondays at 5 pm and Thursday at noon. Says host Marcia Perlstein: “As Your Friendly Neighborhood Interviewer, I consider myself homeroom in bringing our community conversations, which tap the talents and dreams of our neighbors. Treasures and Pleasures cuts across categories and includes people representing all manner of cultural expression, invention and thought. We have our more well known heads of programs as well as rank and file folks who live out their dreams and share them on air with us.

Since 1957, when I hit the streets on my first civil rights march, I’ve been concerned with numerous areas of social justice. In my professional life in education and as a practicing psychotherapist since 1967, I’ve been concerned with helping folks access their strengths for their own growth and the betterment of their communities. KPTZ provides me with the opportunity to unite my past with the present by being in conversation with our rich collection of personalities and as their fan, represent the listener in bringing them into our homes through the airwaves and our streaming computers.”

Marcia also hosts occasional airings of Under the Rainbow, which covers LGBT issues. You can listen to past shows on that podcast page.
