The 6th and 9th of August of this year commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in1945, the year – 78 years ago – that the Atomic Genie left the bottle never to return. Civilians and military personnel were indiscriminately killed, and there were terrible inhumane consequences for the survivors. Joining us today is Ann Wright, Col. US Army (Retired) who served 29 years with the Army and Army Reserves, and 16 years of service in the US Diplomatic Corps. Ann is now an outspoken Activist for Peace. She was one of three US Diplomats who submitted their letters of resignation to Colin Powell on the eve of the invasion of Iraq.
Ann has been writing and speaking out for Peace since then, participating in discussions on foreign policy and peace at conferences worldwide, as well as participating in non-violent protests all over the globe. KPTZ’s Chris Bricker sits down for a conversation with Ann.
